How it works

Level, compacted, build-ready

1

Locate & plan

Utility locates confirmed, grades and access reviewed against your plans before we mobilise.

2

Cut, fill & trench

Dirt moved to the grades the drawings call for, trenches cut clean to depth.

3

Compacted & handed over

Backfilled, compacted, and left as a level, build-ready pad for the next trade.

Questions & answers

Excavation & site prep FAQs

Do you handle utility locates?

Yes — locates are confirmed before any bucket goes in the ground, every time. Hitting an unmarked line is the most expensive and most dangerous mistake in this work, and it’s entirely avoidable with a call that takes a few days to come back. We plan the schedule around it.

Can you grade a lot after a demolition?

That’s one of the most common ways we’re used, and it’s the advantage of one crew doing both. The structure comes down, the debris goes out, and the same crew grades and compacts the pad in the same mobilisation — no second contractor, no second mobilisation charge, and no argument about who left what.

What happens to the excavated dirt?

Whichever the job needs. Usable material is stockpiled on site for backfill and the surplus is hauled off. We agree it at the walkthrough so it’s inside the written price — trucking dirt is a real cost and it shouldn’t appear as a surprise line later.

How do I know the pad is really ready to build on?

We grade to the elevations on your plans and compact in lifts rather than dumping and smoothing the top. If your project needs compaction testing we’ll work around the testing schedule so your engineer can sign it off before the concrete crew arrives.
